Short Biography
Dr. Navid Alem is a UC Irvine Health Anesthesiologist and Pain Medicine specialist.

Alem received his medical degree from the UC Irvine School of Medicine, and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Southern California (USC). He subsequently completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at USC, where he received training in an array of medical, interventional and behavioral modalities to assist patients with acute and chronic pain syndromes. He also received integrated training in Regional Anesthesia during his pain fellowship. Alem specializes in a diverse array of anesthetic cases, and practices both inpatient and outpatient Pain Medicine.

His research interests include perioperative strategies that can help enhance pain control and safety. He is also an avid educator, and serves as an Associate Program Director for Residency in Anesthesiology.
