Research Abstract
Dr. Modanlou’s current research interests and activities relate to organ blood flow, in particular CNS blood flow and metabolism, during acute bacterial meningitis and with analgesia/sedative during the neonatal period (newborn animal study). In addition, non-enzymatic antioxidants (vitamins A, C. and E) and their role in the prevention of oxygen free radical injury during the neonatal period is being studied. Pharmacokinetics of narcotics/analgesics and sedatives in neonates.
