Research Abstract
Research on the use of computers by elementary and secondary schools, and the relationship between computer technology and instructional reform.

Survey research on school policies and teacher practices with respect to acquisition and use of computers.

Evaluation research on the use of computers using experimental and quasi-experimental designs and focusing on identifying facilitating school and classroom organizational arrangements for improving student outcomes.

Issues in the sociology of education: school organization for the middle grades, overcoming adolescent disengagement, public school restructuring.

Survey research data collection design and management.

Mathematics education -- number sense concepts and use of math to achieve quantitative literacy in the social studies.
