Short Biography
Ten years into my registered nurse career in the US, I returned to school for a family nurse practitioner degree. I have been a board-certified family nurse practitioner for 15 years. My clinical experience is in the primary care and geriatric setting, where I care for everyone from children to seniors with a variety of medical conditions. I had cared for very old geriatric population for several years which became a foundation for my current research interest and community service. I became a trainer for education in end of life care for clinicians and community residents after I became certified as hospice and palliative care APRN. she also earned her certification in hospice and palliative care.
As part of her role as vice president of the Korean American Nurses Association of Southern California, I am working for more Asian representation in healthcare. Asians have many different groups within, and we’re not well represented.
In my downtime, I enjoy singing at home and in her choir at church. One year, I joined the Orange County Women’s Choir and performed at Carnegie Hall with them three years ago. I am not with OCWC any more due to time restraints but cherish the experience.
