Research Abstract
I am an infectious disease epidemiologist and a demographer and most of my work concerns spatial and spatiotemporal patterns in infectious diseases. Much of my research has focused on malaria along the Thailand-Myanmar (Burma) border. I also do research on tuberculosis among migrants as well as maternal and child health. I am particularly interested in the ways that human movement and migration patterns influence the distribution of infectious diseases, treatment seeking behavior and health outcomes. Results of these types of analyses are beneficial for informing public health interventions.
