Research Abstract
Dr. Connie Rhee is a physician-scientist devoted to the study of endocrine derangements in chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease patients. She is a graduate of the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Honors Program in Medical Education, and she completed her residency and chief residency at the Oregon Health and Science University. She subsequently pursued a combined research and clinical nephrology fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital and a Master of Science in Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. As a clinical investigator in the University of California Irvine Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, Dr. Rhee conducts prospective and retrospective research studies centered upon endo-nephrology. She is currently the Principal Investigator of NIH/NIDDK R03 and K23 awards, a National Kidney Foundation grant, and an American Thyroid Association grant studying thyroid dysfunction in kidney disease, and is a co-investigator on NIH/NIDDK R01 and U01 grants. She has published over 120 manuscripts to date.
