Sleep breathing disorders and endothelial dysfunction
Research Abstract
My research interests is the vascular health implications of sleep apnea with an emphasis on mechanistic pathways. I am specifically interested in four areas within this larger domain:
1) The prediction of vascular outcomes in patients with sleep apnea;
2) The mechanistic pathways on the development of atherosclerotic health outcomes among patients with sleep apnea;
3) The impact of standard therapy for sleep apnea on reducing the risk for adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular outcomes; and
4) The metabolic consequences of sleep deprivation.
