Short Biography
Dr. Levy was accepted into a joint 7-year BA MD program at CUNY Brooklyn College and SUNY Downstate Medical Center. As an undergrad, he developed an interest in immunology and did research investigating antibodies to Factor VIII. This kindled an interest in immunology, and he went on to pursue a career in Allergy and Immunology. He did his Fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, mentored by Dr. Joseph Church and Dr. Warren Richards.
Dr. Levy has been in private practice in Orange, CA since 1988. He has been active in teaching at UC Irvine as volunteer faculty since 1988 and joined the faculty as a Health Sciences Clinical Professor of Medicine in 2011. He is expert in treating patients with allergic diseases such as asthma, hay fever, hives, eczema, insect stings, drug allergy, food allergy, eosinophilic esophagitis and anaphylaxis. In addition, he has a special interest in treating patients with hereditary angioedema. He has been a Principal Investigator on more than 50 clinical trials investigating asthma, allergic rhinitis and hereditary angioedema.
