Research Abstract
The first renal transplant in Orange County was performed in 1969 at UCI Medical Center by pioneering kidney transplant surgeon, Dr. Donald C. Martin. Since then, over 500 renal transplants have been performed at UCI Medical Center, more than at any other transplant center in Orange County.
Dr. Ervin Paul Ruzics was trained in renal transplantation by Dr. Donald C. Martin and has performed over 200 renal transplants.
