Research Abstract:
|
Anatomic Pathology as a specialty not only has definite commitments to teaching and service, it is also engaged in developing interpretation of various diagnostic and prognostic tumor markers. These markers are used to categorize tumors such that their clinical behavior and response to therapy might be predicted prior to the application of therapy. In this context, the laboratory is equipped with the applications of principles of molecular biology, immunohistochemistry and cytometry. In addition, a well catalogued human tumor tissue bank has been developed in the department. Therefore, various frozen tumor tissues are available for molecular and biologic studies.
