He is also the medical director of electrophysiology at the CHOC Heart Institute, an associate professor and vice chair of pediatrics, and board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics with a subspecialty board in pediatric cardiology.

Dr. Batra attended medical school at Ohio State University and completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. He is designated as a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) and is certified in electrophysiology, specifically arrhythmia management and device implantation.

Dr. Batra is consistently voted as one of Orange County’s Top Doctors. Dr. Batra speaks fluent Hindi, Punjabi and Spanish.

Dr. Batra has coauthored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and abstracts. During his career, Dr. Batra has received numerous awards and honors. In 2005, he was given the Metcoff Award for outstanding research presentation from the Midwest Society for Pediatric Research. In 2006, Dr. Batra received the best research poster award from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Batra has also received the Physician of Excellence award from the Orange County Medical Association every year since 2007.
