Appointments Before coming to Irvine in 2006 I taught at the University of Manchester (2003-2006), Birkbeck College London (2003), and the University of Munich (1997-2003). I held visiting appointments at the University of Minnesota and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
   
Research
Abstract
I am working on epistemic closure, agreement and testimony, the Gettier problem, and topics in the philosophy of memory. I am currently directing four dissertations: Aaron Griffith (truthmaking), Forrest Fleming (coherence), Richard Vulich (epistemology of disagreement), and Mathew Yunker (epistemic value).
