Research Abstract |
Dr. Matthew's research focuses on international relations in the developing world, especially South Asia, and he has published widely on transnational security threats and environmental security and sustainability issues. His articles have appeared in a range of journals including Alternatives, Global Environmental Politics, Peace Review, and Security Dialogue. Recent and forthcoming books include Contested Ground: Security and Conflict in the New Environmental Politics (SUNY, 1999); Dichotomy of Power: Nation versus State in World Politics (Rowman and Littlefield, 2002); Conserving the Peace: How Protecting the Environment Today Can Prevent Conflict and Disaster Tomorrow (IISD, 2002); Cleaning Up War’s Hidden Legacy: The Transnational Effort to Ban Landmines (SUNY, 2003); Reframing the Agenda (Praeger, 2003); and Environmental Insecurities (MIT, 2003). | |
