Abstract
My research concerns the role of hydrology in the coupled Earth system. Areas of current activity include the parameterization of terrestrial hydrologic processes for Earth system models and studies of land-ocean-atmosphere interaction; satellite remote sensing of soil moisture, surface water, groundwater, terrestrial water storage, and global water balance; soil moisture variability and scaling; the contribution of continental water storage to global mean sea level rise; and global change impacts on water availability.
