Research Abstract
Dr. Haier uses brain imaging, especially MRI, MEG and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) to study learning, memory, and intelligence. Previous work has focused on brain efficiency and mental effort hypotheses. Dr. Haier's current research combines an interest in individual differences in psychological task performance and brain imaging. The purpose of this work is to identify the brain areas and systems that underlie normal and abnormal mental abilities, especially intelligence.
