Abstract
Dr. Lin's laboratory is using hi-tech approaches (e.g., Heart Rate Variability analysis of Electrocardiogram, Independent Component Analysis of Electroencephalogram, Electromyography, Laser Doppler Flowmetry measurement of blood flow, Infra Red Thermography for monitoring body temperature,Single Square Voltage Pulse method for measurement of conductance and capacitance at acupuncture points, Gas Discharge Visualization of bioelectrical fields, Single Photon Counting of biophoton emission, etc. ) to study physiological changes in mind/body functions and bioenergy fields associated with mind-body practices and acupuncture therapy, two major modalities of complementary and alternative medicine.
