Research Abstract
My primary research interest is the identification of emotional and personality changes following stroke. Using measures specifically designed in our lab to measure such changes in brain-impaired individuals, new and important directions for research have been identified. I have found, for example, that specific personality changes occur depending on the hemispheric side of the stroke lesion and that lateralized course of emotional change occurs over time. Another major area of study compares dementia and depression in adults with Down Syndrome and Alzheimer's disease. This research has produced interesting findings regarding differential diagnosis of these two conditions.
