Abstract 		The family context of children's social development and achievement, which includes studies of parental employment; mothers' and fathers' involvement in school; marital quality and gender roles; co-sleeping and family functioning, and the transition to parenthood. Recent research also includes study of the early development of children who are later diagnosed with autism.
