Research Abstract |
Professor Bander earned his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. (1962) from Columbia University. He held postdoctoral positions at CERN, Copenhagen , and SLAC before joining the UCI Physics Department in 1966. He has served as the Department Chair from 1992-95, as well as during 1978-80, and was Dean of the School of Physical Sciences during 1980-86. Although most of my research has been in elementary particle theory, my recent interests involve cosmology and the interpalay of quantum mechanics and general relativity. Very recemtly I have worked on incorporating coordinate noncommutativity into quantum mechanics. |
