The research focuses on the development of new algorithms, architectures, and systems and in performance analysis. There also is interest in the application of stochastic processes and optimization theory for the development and analysis ofcommunications systems and networks. Recent research efforts have focused on collision resolution-based random access protocols, development of optimal design techniques and routing algorithms for high-speed networks and ISDNs, and the application of neural networks to image tracking, data compression, and data communications network management problems.
